Our Story

A Name That Carries a People

Blaq Bohemia exists to celebrate Black artistry, empower creators across the African Diaspora, and curate travel that connects you with ancestral wisdom and the living beauty of Black communities worldwide.

Founded in 2021 by psychologist Sonasha Braxton, we blend principles of psychology and personal transformation into everything we design. Travel, in our hands, becomes a form of self care, cultural preservation, and collective upliftment.

The Founder

Sonasha Braxton

Sonasha is a psychologist, traveler, and builder of bridges across the Diaspora. She founded Blaq Bohemia in 2021 out of a conviction that travel can be healing, especially for Black travelers who have historically been excluded from or misrepresented within the global travel industry.

As both psychologist and founder, she brings deep listening to every consultation, designing journeys that honor who you are, where you come from, and who you are becoming.
